Meeting of Minds Defiance/ Crossing 5
"Men of Defiance, you all know why we are here, and you know who I am." Roxar was standing on the back of his truck, speaking to his troops over the vox bead in his ear. "I have one thing that you should know before we go and fight. And that is that we do not fight for Pending. We don't fight for fort Aquila either, or even our entire worthless district. No my brothers, we fight so that we and our own might live to see better days. We fight to send those Dominion bastards packing. We fight to prove to ourselves that the flame of humanity burns within us. Now charge, or do you want those thieves and murderers from Crossing to have all the fun?

The march was going well, no landmines or enemy forces or giant-mutated twists had stopped them... yet.
"Never mind, don't think of that stuff while the going is good, we'll have enough shit to deal with when we hit the front lines," Roxar thought to himself. He radioed the Quartermaster.
"All isss well sssah, though I mussst asssk what isss wrong with the Colonel? Ssshe wonderesss where you two have met before. Did you sssah? Or are you playing gamesss?" Roxar sighed. The one bad thing about speaking with the Quartermaster was that it took thrice as long as with any other person due to his reptilian tongue.
"I am offended my good man!" He

Roxar considered the Colonel before him, and with a tight lipped smile realised that he knew her. It had been a while since he had last seen Yvette, and he wasn't surprised she'd ended up in Crossing. He was surprised however that she'd made Colonel. He had never pegged her as being a possible commander, and from the lax attitude of her soldiers he felt that he was still right. He noted with some pride that his own twists were actually more alert and disciplined. He made a show of looking her up and down before speaking.
"Hello Yvette, nice to see you again. Wouldn't call my twist gorgeous, but then again you seem to be absolutely fixated on
As the convoy neared Fort Crossing one of the scouts from the front of their advance turned his motorcycle around and pulled up next to Roxar's command truck.
"Sir, Fort Crossing appears to be very active. I think they might have had a messenger too."
Roxar nodded. "Good, that means we can join them and form a larger attack force."
"Very well sir." The scout resumed his forward patrol, speeding ahead of the advance.
Roxar considered his troops, surveying the motley group of irregulars he was leading. He had achieved much in his short time at Defiance. Every man (and woman) was finally properly equipped, mostly with autoguns and bayonets,
The runner from Fort Aquila was a scrawny little twist, with a rat face and beady little eyes. His voice was high pitched and nearly trembled as he said: “Commander Etzal has ordered a high alert. Your garrison must be placed on high alert and muster for war! An attack on Fort Aquila seems imminent.”
Roxar remained quiet, giving himself and his subordinates a chance to consider this new information. They had long anticipated another invasion, but for Etzal to call for reinforcements meant it was serious. Roxar had known Etzal's name even before he was posted to Defiance. After all, it had been Etzal who stopped the last great att
“Gentlemen, thank you for coming.” Roxar was sitting in the war room of the Fort, a large room with a massive round table. With him sat Doctor Venom and the Quartermaster, plus some of the more capable Sergeants.
“We have made good progress so far in the reorganisation of this Fort. However, we still have some remaining issues. For one, we lack an officer for 3rd company. Secondly I am concerned that our scouting missions have been largely unsuccessful recently. Even the feral mutants haven't been sighted in a while. This leads me to believe that there must be something scaring them away.”
After a moments pause he co
